Danita Minnis: Inspired by the Dark and Scary

I'm being interviewed by Nicole Hurley-Moore!

Yes, I'm still afraid of things that go bump in the night but, oh, how I love writing about them. :)

My debut paranormal romance Falcon's Angel is a haunting tale of reincarnation. If you love dark and scary with your romance, you will love this centuries-old fight with devil-worshippers.

Falcon and Angel: Naughty or Nice?

Falcon and Angel: Naughty or Nice?

Warning: These two can not tell the truth. They are not what they seem, this assassin and this thief.

Our story starts with a meeting between Falcon and Angel. A chance meeting in a dark alley? Hardly. For them, there are no coincidences. Soon, they will be running for their lives and that is definitely not by chance. Not as long as il Dragone wants them dead.

With any luck Falcon and Angel will remember who they are and what they must do to stay one step ahead of il Dragone. What they must do to stay alive.

“Where to, Angel?”

Angelina stood up. “Casa di Città. Do you know it?”

“Do I know it? Hey, you took my room.” He took a step closer, unable to stop himself.

No, he could have stopped himself. He was trained for this role and could slip in and out of it easily. He just didn’t want to.

She was making him feel things, like this was something other than an investigation. This could be their first date, if it were not for the gun in his jacket. And the Stradivarius.

“Was that your room?” There was not a shred of sincerity in the sympathetic smile that did not reach Angelina’s eyes.

He gave her a curt nod. “I even called ahead, made a reservation. When I got there they told me it was a full house.”

The way she bit her lip in an attempt to stifle a giggle drew him even closer. When he reached behind her for the violin case, hard nipples grazed his chest.

A jolt of lust shot straight through his loins, nearly crippling him. She did not move away, and that was not good.

He knew why he was reacting to her this way. He would have to be dead not to. She was gorgeous. But for all she knew, he could be a serial killer. He tried to ignore the fact that she wanted him too. She was too trusting and at this rate, he would have her horizontal in minutes.

He jerked to attention in his jeans, took a step back and handed her the case. “The owner smiled when he told me this.”

“Signor Parisi smiled? I don’t believe I have ever seen him do that. That’s a bit rude, isn’t it?” This time the giggle erupted from her in husky melody. It wrapped around that part of him that wanted to pound into her.
She turned away, but not before her cheeks flushed with color. “If I were you I should never darken Signor Parisi’s doorstep again. Take my business elsewhere.”

There were two reasons he didn’t pull her close and kiss her then. One was the earlier attack. She had experienced enough today, and things had suddenly become complicated. Second, he needed her complete trust. They must be friends first. Still, he wondered how long she would make him wait before he could lay her down.

“Tony?”

“Yes?” The warm vanilla limbs wrapped around him disintegrated before his eyes.

“I asked where you took your business.”

“I’m staying with a friend on the Piazza Barberi until the tourists either have mercy or have had their full of Naples and a room becomes available.”

“That’s near the old churchyard, isn’t it? I pass it on the way to the Conservatory.”

“So, Bella, we are neighbors. Let’s go home.”

Falcon's Angel is available now:

Falcon’s Angel blurb
She’s a classical violinist and daughter of a dynasty with one passion; her Stradivarius.
Falcon wants the Stradivarius in her possession, and goes undercover to track down a thief. But he is not the only killer in search of the violin.
il Dragone, a devil-worshiping cult, wants revenge for a past only they can remember.
Angelina wants to go unrecognized when she leaves her family’s Yorkshire estate to play in a symphony in Italy. But the Stradivarius, a gift from her deceased instructor, opens a door to hatred that is centuries old.
Falcon’s Angel is a paranormal romance of love that ended in tragedy in eighteenth century England. That love is tested in a fight of good versus evil some two hundred years later. This time around Falcon and Angel have an opportunity to learn something that can put a stop to the cycle of murder and mayhem.

Gemma K. Murphy: Keeper of the Golden Dragon's Heart

Character Interview

Character: Anastasia has an interesting story to tell.

1.      What is your Anastasia like? Oh goodness, Anastasia is sassy, brazen, and bold. She’s the daughter of a puma shifter and a witch, so her life hasn’t been exactly easy. She has the wonderful ability of being all warm and feminine, but her backbone is made of pure steel.

2.      What does Anastasia do best? What is the perfect location for this action? Ana puts up with the Golden boys. They’ve been her pseudo-brothers since she was 12. I love the way she gives all of their teasing right back to them.

3.      What drives Anastasia to do the things they do? Her love for the family who took her in when she was orphaned. She is so dedicated to showing them she is appreciative of that fact without being overly so.

4.      You are introduced to Anastasia. Is she happy to meet you? Heck, no! *grin* Ana and I didn’t see eye to eye from the start. She was bound and determined I had to tell her story, but as soon as I went off course from where she intended to lead me, she shut down. She may be a little happier to see me now, but I can’t make any promises.

5.      What is Anastasia’s favorite guilty pleasure? Sweets! Ana loves everything sweet. From her cinnamon rolls to pancakes to her chocolate (Book 2), Ana cannot get enough sugary things. Oops, she whispering to me, “Don’t forget about my man, Bowie. He’s kind of sweet, too.”

6.      How would Anastasia describe herself? She says she is pure pussycat until you cross her. She loves her family and would lay down her life if she needed to in order to keep them safe. She’s intelligent, but she’s worried her witch skills will kill somebody someday unless she learns her craft.

7.      What is Anastasia’s weakness? Her heart. Ana loves so easily, but it takes her a long time to trust people.

8.      Where does Anastasia go to regroup/unwind? Either the woods around Cedar River or the lake. She can clear her mind and let loose.

9.      What does Anastasia live for? Her family and the community of Cedar River

10.  What will Anastasia kill for? The same.

A Few Questions for Anastasia

1.      If you could have one super power in your existence, what would it be? I’m a puma shifter with witch powers. I think I’m pretty awesome as is.

2.      A biography has been written about you. What do you think the title would be in six words or less? Keeper of the Golden Dragon’s Heart.

3.      If money were not an object, where would you most like to live? I would live exactly where I am, Cedar River, Michigan, Upper Peninsula, USA.

4.      I can never leave Bowie because he is the love of my life.

5.      The next time I want to drive Bowie crazy, I will steal his ’69 Camaro and lead him out onto an old country road so I can seduce him.

6.      Why do I always insist on teasing Bowie? (Because it is so much fun.)

7.      My favorite flavor is real maple syrup because it reminds me of Mama’s breakfasts.

8.      I love being a puma because I have the ability to see things normal humans may miss.

9.      How much teasing can you take? Why? I can take a lot. I grew up with Bowie and his three brothers. They can drive a girl crazy, trust me, but I learned early on to hand it right back to them.

10.  Name one thing you must do before you die, and why. Make sure that Cedar River and the surrounding world is safe for my children and grandchildren. Why? Don’t you want the same for your family? There are so many close-minded people who just can’t stand it if someone is different. Cedar River and its residents aren’t perfect, but they loved me and kept me safe. Every child should know that sort of life.

Blurb

The Upper Peninsula of Michigan seems like it is another country. The rawness and beauty of the land draws people from every walk of life. What most people don't realize is there is a little town nestled on the banks of Lake Superior that an entire group of supernatural beings call home. Shifters of every shape and size live there. They raise their families there. Tourists come from near and far to visit the quaint town of Cedar River, Michigan. The tourists never realize they are walking among some of the most unusual beings on earth.

Bowie Golden is a dragon shifter who is in charge of Cedar River's safety. Until now, the biggest threat to anyone's safety was Anastasia Plum, a witch/puma-shifter. She has been the town hellraiser since she was a teenager. Now someone has discovered the secret the residents of Cedar River keep for one another. These radicals are determined to eradicate the entire town. It's up to Bowie to keep them all safe.

Ana has always idolized Bowie. She may have stirred up trouble from time to time, but Bowie or one of his brothers would always get her out of the trouble she was in. One day, it happened. The unthinkable, the unimaginable occurred. Anastasia Plum fell for the "golden" boy. What an unlikely duo- the sheriff and the hellraiser!

Just as these two discover their passion for one another, a group of people is determined to keep them apart. It's up to Ana to prove that she is the only Keeper of the Golden Dragon's Heart.

Bio

I was born and raised in a small town in lower Michigan. A farmer's daughter, my greatest ambitions were to become a large animal vet and to read every book ever written. The veterinarian dream fell by the wayside, but I'm still working on reading every book I can get my hot little hands on.

But I'm a dreamer…I love to sit and look out the windows, daydreaming about what could be. I love getting tangled in my dreams when I fall asleep at night. That is how Keeper of the Golden Dragon's Heart came to be. It started with a dream and spun into something beautiful.

Wicked Wednesday

Welcome Maria Piork!

Maria Piork: Romance is questionable, but erotica? Well, that's just dirty!
I'm often asked why I write what I write. I believe people’s assumption is that I'm secretly a sex-obsessed person who just likes to write graphic sex scenes. Now, if one were to take this stance then I guess the same would hold true for writers such as Stephen King and Dean Koontz and we should be thinking of them as deranged serial killers. Right? Well, of course not!

What is Erotica then, really? Erotica is about the sexual journey and
sexual awakening of a character. Erotica can contain a love story, but it doesn’t need it.  For this reason alone, I prefer to write Erotic Romance because my stories do include the love plot and the hurdles and challenges people have to endure for a chance at love. And of course not all Erotica is just about screwing people. In fact, Erotica can be intelligent, classy, and tasteful. For me in particular when I write my books, I’m conveying stories that explore the intimate bonds two people share, to explore human emotions and the wide range of connection.
And why do I write erotica? Well, for one it’s fun to put in writing and it sells. And I believe it sells because in my opinion it is not love that makes the world go around, but sex.  Now, think about this for a moment, really think about it.  Sex changes people and changes relationships. Sex can be used to bring people together or tear them apart. It can hurt and it can heal. People’s lives have been made, and destroyed, by whom they choose to have sex with. Sex is hot and powerful and no matter how much our culture tries to pretend that it's uncivilized and disgusting, it is not.
In closing, I want like to say to you my wonderful followers and fans that I hope that you have learned something about my writing and something about the Erotic genre.  I also hope that you would consider connecting with me via my site, Facebook or Twitter.

Upcoming Project: My fourth eBook labeled Captive in the Game will be released on 9/30. This book is a fictional tale about a young couple who work together and become casual lovers. After several years of on the job drama and divorce scandal with other partners the casual lovers realize that what they had all along was in fact much more than just a passing fling.

Thank you, Maria
